A penny has just dropped

Yokel has just been reading a number of other blogs that he follows. In particular he has been reading Fjordman at Dhimmi Watch. As part of a very well argued piece (as always from him), Fjordman writes: 'Former Soviet dissident Vladimir Bukovksy, who is not particularly preoccupied with Islam, fears that the European Union is on its way to becoming another Soviet Union: "The sooner we finish with the EU the better. The sooner it collapses the less damage it will have done to us and to other countries." '

But a thought went straight through Yokel's mind, "It will be longer than that". How long?

Yokel was reminded of the initial refusal by the children of Israel to take the Promised Land, and how God then kept that generation in the wilderness until all those who refused to fight has died. Only then were the people permitted to enter that land. Forty years later.

Then, when Ezra and Nehemiah led the return of the Israelites from Babylon, it was after an exile that lasted 150 years. When God punishes, he does it thoroughly. Here is not the place to catalogue all the ways in which the UK has offended the Lord God. If you have a mind to, you can do it yourself.

This calls for a heavy think. It might be some time before Yokel posts again.

Don't believe a thing!

It seems that many journalists wouldn't know a truth if it jumped up and bit them. So they are quite useful for spreading "information" favourable to ... well you can guess.

On the other hand, there are still some who work at uncovering the facts, and checking them in the "old fashioned" way. It is quite important that these criminals are educated that some things are off limits. Completely unacceptable to know about facts.

And the government wants some inquests to be held in secret? Just how much easier would it have been if the de Menenzes details had been covered with, you know, a little less brashness. But one coroner has decided that enough is enough.

We must learn to read "between the lines", to note relevant omissions, and to be sufficiently well informed that we can "connect the dots".

Quick thought on ID Cards

We read the other day about how the government will coerce the population into accepting ID Cards, starting with the weakest and most vulnerable.

Now we have the stupidity of requiring pensioners to produce proof that they are old enough to purchase alcohol legally!

No need to worry, it is only for your own security you understand.

This might be England captain, but not as we knew it!

So the "peaceful" jihad of Migrate, Multiply, and Manipulate begins to exercise its power. The lead is Kosovo, just about to declare UDI. Luton next?

I am certain that both the Left and the Jihadis each think of the other as their "useful idiots", which is why they are so firmly wedded to each other at present. Each will get a surprise when the other refuses to accept that designation! Remind Yokel to plant crops that will store well.

Some talk about Britain becoming a "post religious" society (or something similar), but remember that Islam is a "religion" like no other. It tells itself that it has all the answers to everything, and it brooks no dissent. It is not for nothing that the word translates as Submission, and its members are Submitters. Islam is incapable of existing permanently on the sidelines. It must be dominant, or working towards dominance. Its perpetual victimhood is merely a tactic along the way.

We all have something to do, if we are to contribute to turning the tide. WE must ALL turn to Christ. While we leave it to the vicars and bishops to be holy on our behalf, we are lost, for some of them are very lost.

More about the Family Heirlooms

A few posts ago, Yokel noted that the French government, in the shape of EDF were busy trying to re-nationalise the UK electricity industry. After all, we can't have these businessman villains running the show when politicians could make an even better mess of it.

Rather late in the day, Yokel has noticed that the German government, in the shape of Deutsche Bahn AG, is the chosen vehicle for the renationalisation of the UK railway industry. DB has already acquired the rail freight company EWS.

The news in the last few weeks is that DB is now on the verge of acquiring Laing Rail who operate the passenger franchises Chiltern Railways, and have a half share in London Overground with the Hong Kong rapid transit operator MTR Corporation, and a part share in Wrexham, Shropshire and Marylebone Railway with Renaissance Trains, which is itself a joint venture.

Yokel would welcome any educated guesses about which EU province will buy up other UK infrastructure. British Telecom hasn't become the world dominating force to rival AT&T that it thought was its due, British Gas really only has value to its current owner as a database of captive customers who can be sold something else as well, and perhaps we better hadn't mention British Steel.

Remember Sid? Tell him!

Its getting very bad very quickly!

The Archbishop of Canterbury is quoted by the Ministry of Propaganda as saying: "Sharia law in UK is 'unavoidable'"

This is shameful. Does the Archbishop not know his Bible? Methinks he should read Numbers 15 vv 15 - 16 for starters.

Did he ask his congregation?

Will he continue to permit Michael Nazir-Ali to speak out contrary to the Dhimmitude of the Archbishop?

Police realise something is going on 'ere, then?

A bit more of The Master Plan is unveiled.

During early part of the 1939-45 war, there was a fairly predictable sequence of events. Firstly the Wehrmacht (German Armed Forces) would defeat the defenders, but would be replaced in short order by the Schutzstaffel (SS) and the Geheime Staatspolizei (Gestapo). Then the trouble for the civil population really began.

Similarly when Stalin's Soviet Union over ran Eastern Europe at the end of that war and colonised it, they developed various detachments of State Security under the Ministerium für Staatssicherheit , the Ministry for State Security. Though mostly known for the STASI, the Ministry also maintained its own army (named after the founder of the Soviet Cheka, the forerunner of the more widely known KGB!) and a militarised police, the Volkspolizei. The East German National People's Army traced its roots to the Kasernierte Volkspolizei (KVP) (barracked people's police). In times of struggle (eg the building of the Berlin Wall) it would be supported by the Combat Groups of the Working Class, volunteers who operated in much the same way as the British TA, but with rather different objectives!

So one can see common themes of Socialist repression regardless of whether the controlling government was National Socialist (otherwise abbreviated to Nazi) or International Socialist (otherwise abbreviated to Communist). They clearly fell out of the same mould.

Within Europe these days, what do we have? Mostly Socialist governments of some hue or other delivering their peoples to the Socialist EU Empire, whether the people want it or not. [Text of the assertion by Barroso and some further comment] And what has it just done? Prepared a Militarised Police Force (EUROGENDFOR). There are some comments here, and here.

Where are we now? Firstly, we have been delivered for subjugation initially by Edward Teeth Heath, confirmed for it by Harold Wilson, and every other UK Prime Minister since those days, and most especially by Tony Bliar Blair and Gordon Bottler Brown. Throughout all of these stages, the UK politicians lied to the UK people, calculated deliberate lies. Just before he died, the unlamented Edward Heath said quite cheerily that of course it had always been the intention to form something much more integrated than just a customs union. But Yokel was around at the time, and that is not what he recalls Heath saying then. It certainly wasn't what Wilson said when he tricked Yokel and many others into voting in favour of retaining EU membership. The army of occupation is invisible because it is done by a combination of Political Correctness and EU legal intervention in the way we run the UK, such as subservience to the European Court of Justice. Nevertheless the UK is occupied by the machinery of government of a foreign power. These are the people in charge.

But the Police represent a problem. So by stealth, our wise masters have a solution. The Ministry of Propaganda (aka BBC) reports another forthcoming shake up in policing. With yet more "civilianisation".* They report Jan Berry (Chairman of the Police Federation) being worried that such a move could lead to a lesser-skilled police force.

"It produces a completely different kind of police service, one that's only dealing with confrontational situations, like a paramilitary force.
"That's not the police service that traditionally this country had, and we have got to be very careful before we fall into that type of police service."

So a serving officer has noticed what is going on. Yokel's guess is that it won't make any difference though, because he fears that it is the intention of government to "just happen" to arrive at a situation where the UK has or needs such a force. Then the UK provincial government can become a full member of the EUROGENDFOR treaty as well.

So, if our leaders are following the East German model, that is the Volkspolizei element addressed. Clearly the Home Office is morphing itself into the tasks of the Ministerium Fuer Staatssicherheit, not long to go on that front. So let us be watchful for the early signs of separate armed forces directly responsible to whatever the Home Office calls itself at the time, for changes to the TA to make it more like the Combat Groups of the Working Class (ignore the fancy communist title, read the reference about how they were used), and most especially for signs that the Security Service is transforming itself everso slowly into the STASI equivalent.

Tick the subjugation process off on a score sheet as it happens. Its the only involvement you'll get. Until the 6am knock on the door for thought crimes, or to be taken into protective custody for being likely to commit a crime.

* As an aside, whatever happened to Sir Robert Peel's Principles of Policing? Principle 7 states:

Police, at all times, should maintain a relationship with the public that gives reality to the historic tradition that the police are the public and the public are the police; the police being only members of the public who are paid to give full-time attention to duties which are incumbent on every citizen in the interests of community welfare and existence.

But that is the Common Law approach to policing, and is not compatible with the Napoleonic Law that is being foisted on us. So Peel's Principles have had to go.

And what isn't in the news?

There's a lot of bad news around at the moment. Yokel noted some in yesterday's post. The political blogs are making hay with "Donorgate", Gorbals Mick (the Speaker) is getting a bit of stick, there is a sudden outbreak of transparency over MP's expenses.

So what is the silence about? We hear virtually nothing about the debate in Committee about the bill to cede sufficient of the UK's sovereignty to the National government in Brussels, that will make it impossible for the UK to function as an independent State ever again! The Committee stage finishes tomorrow (Weds 6 Feb). So its trivial really. There is only the Lords (listen out for sounds of the Parliament Act being unwrapped for a special occasion), and the Third Reading in the Commons, and then its all over for the UK. No wonder the press are not reporting it. "Nothing to see here, move along please." "Wasn't that a corpse?" "Only the remains of the UK. Now just look to the future not to the past, modernise the people, and move along please, nothing to see here".

Why isn't it news when our political masters are bullying the approval of the EU Constitution Lisbon Treaty through the Commons, but without the approval of the British people?

Why isn't it news that the same tactics are being employed in every other country province of this non-imperial empire?

Why?

?

A miscellany of disasters on the boil

So much going wrong. So little time to blog about them in. So a quick reference and a comment for several.

Private equity bidder Olivant pulls out of battle for Northern Rock says the Grauniad. Olivant are up front that they don't know how to make any money out of the deal. So things must be dire! That leave Branson's Virgin group and a Northern Rock management team headed by a former Mergers and Acquisitions banker at Merrill Lynch. ML have had a spot of loss making bother themselves recently, and thrown their former CEO out. Yokel's guess is that the nation will end up paying another state subsidy to the nation's favourite beard. (Try Virgin Rail for starters)

The Afghans don't want us there, we've made the situation a whole lot worse they say. Yokel vigorously disagrees with the reasoning behind Karzai's attack, but agrees that the British troops are doing no good. How can the forces of a Christian country be there fighting to establish an Islamic state. Written into the new Afghan constitution is a requirement for the state to be Islamic. However, our troops will not come home quick. Yokel is convinced that Brown needs them out there, out of the way, so that they cannot object when a complete the British subjugation into the EU.

Its OK for the Police to bug MPs because the Wilson Doctrine only cover the Security Services! Yokel can't phrase a question with sufficient invective. This lot clearly don't know right from wrong. The ends perpetually justify the means.

Mandatory fingerprinting in order to be able to fly within the UK gets off the ground at Heathrow. And gets lots of protest, but its all from the usual suspects, that is those who have form in protesting about the oncoming police state. Why are the mainstream media mostly so deaf to the issue? How will they benefit from its introduction? Yokel suspects that the old adage to "follow the money" might be lurking here somewhere. BA appear to have a work around for us stroppy Yokels who refuse, but it is planned to be as inconvenient as possible. For the time being, don't fly with BA. But how long will it be before NuLabour think they have got away with it and impose it on everyone? Oh, don't try catching the boat to Shetland after the end of April 2008 without official ID either! Yokel thinks he will have to visit Shetland in April for the first and last time ever.

Sorry there are no pictures, nothing suitable in the library at present. And now Yokel had better go find his palliasse and go sleep this lot off. The times are not good.

It isn't just the UK with problems!

A few years ago, Yokel visited New Zealand for the first time in his life, and promptly fell in love with it. What a wonderful place, and people to get on with. People with a "can do" attitude so refreshing after far too much "can't do that" followed with a choice of "its more than my jobsworth" or "itsa gainst elfinsafety" in the UK. Yokel spent the next 12 months or more plotting on how he could up sticks and go migrate down under. As you can probably tell, it didn't work out. That was a combination of a number of things, including Yokel's age. Whilst the Kiwis would have let Yokel in for a while (6 years to be exact) they'd have thrown him out again afterwards, so that he didn't become a burden in his dotage.

But then watching one or two things that have happened since, perhaps Yokel ought to be praising the Lord that He didn't let it happen.

For ages it seems that Kiwis have been choosing Labour governments. And like (Nu)Labour governments in the northern hemisphere, the NZ Labour government have been doing left wing things. They banned smacking children, despite 83% of the population disagreeing. They have broken the link with the UK by using a wafer thin majority in Parliament to stop the Privy Council being the final court of appeal. One group has already suggested that Kiwis live in an elective dictatorship. One mark on a ballot paper every three years doesn't make up for being ignored, or worse, in between times! And several NZ sites similar to the UK WriteToThem have been launched.

And now, there is the Electoral Finance Act. Brought in, just like similar legislation in the UK to make life difficult for the opposition, it is policed by Commissars who pronounce on whether web sites, inter alia, are electioneering or not. And if they are one must register, and put one's home address for all to read and note. So a site principally to vent the author's frustration, called Don't Vote Labour, has been forced off the Kiwi webscape, all that's left is the forum. But as noted above, New Zealanders are a very resourceful and resilient folk, so Yokel wouldn't be at all surprised to find that this UK site has the content that cannot now be provided from NZ. Then there is a NZ cartoonist living in Oz, who has his site hosted in the US. One campaigning site caught my eye, with its line up of leaders who really don't like free speech! It will be interesting to see how close to internet censorship that the Electoral Commissars get!

Yokel wishes those stout Kiwi freedom fighters all the strength to persevere and prevail.

Those persistent ID Cards

The Register considers (again) the way that the government will not take "No" for an answer when it comes to ID Cards.

Potential contractors are walking away, the people will be persuaded to get one by a Readers' Digest type marketing campaign, government data security has had its worst press (justified) for absolutely ages, the 'gold standard' for identity verification has been demoted to 'what you've already told us', and still they will insist we get one!

Ably annotated by No2ID, this document shows quite clearly the levels of deceit and underhand tactics that they consider justified to get the whole population onto their National Identity register.

Surely this NuLabour government can't be National Socialists, can they?
