What is a traitor?
This post is prompted by the presence in the UK Government and Parliament of persons who are in receipt of an EU pension.
If you weren't aware, it is a condition of receiving an EU pension that one continues to promote the EU at every juncture.
So why are EU pensioners (such as Mandelson, Kinnocks, Lawson, etc) permitted to hold UK Government posts? Why indeed are they allowed in the House of Commons or the House of Lords?
This is not just about the continuing Brussels Gravy train, it is about consistent underhand inflluence, it is about secret (EU) agendas, it is about not representing the people of this country, it is about representing and acting for a foreign power.
Now that used to be a definition of treachery, of being a traitor. No wonder Bliar decided that it should no longer be a crime!
.
traitor n one who betrays a person, country, or cause; a quisling. [Collins English Dictionary 1956]

Now Yokel Knows!
Now Yokel knows why he feels like a stranger in the land of his birth! It was a deliberate decision by the ruling NuLabour clique.
Yokel is exceedingly glad that someone snitched on them. The "truth will out" and all of that. Deliberate decision to get right up his nose. Pause for frustrated anger to calm a bit.
UPDATE: But if Sean Gabb is right, it is even worse. "The purpose of the Government that took power in 1997 was to bring about a revolutionary transformation of this country – a transformation from which there could be no return to what had been before."
How to correct it. That is the problem. Any ideas?

UK Finished by End of October 2009
Given the previous post about the oncoming, probably unstoppable, train for world government, you might have though that Yokel wouldn't be quite so worried about the Europe government. But it is still sad, alarming, petrifying, terrifying, to see that the UK will start to be dismantled from the end of October, when the Czech constitutional court finds that the EU Lisbon Treaty is in line with the Czech constitution.
Yokel cannot understand why the Irish, who fought and still fight to get the British out of Ireland, rolled over and so readily accepted colonisation by Brussels. At least they had some 80 or 90 years of independance. The Czechs on the other hand have had less than half of that, and still they give it away.
Here are a few links to the Daily Mail, Daily Telegraph, Christopher Booker, and EU Referendum.

Climate Con
Those of us who have followed the "Climate Change" stuff over the recent years will have been aware that the science is well and truly established that it is a confidence trick of monumental proportions. The only remaining question has been "Why?". Mostly Yokel had concluded that it was a get rich quick scam for Al-Gore and selected cronies. Then he wondered if it was just an excuse for Gordon Brown to raise taxes, hoping that the opposition would be struck dumb because he was "saving the planet" with his double taxation scams.
But why the intense religious ferver that surrounds this new green
religion? There must be more to it than the personal enrichment of those
who would be our leaders. And now, thanks to Lord Monckton, we know that
there is. Amongst others, he has been paying attention to the Copenhagen
Conference on Climate Change that is shortlly to agree a
Treaty. In the UK we ought these days to be very wary indeed of
treaties, but Yokel guesses that the EU will sign up to this one on
behalf of all its "vassal member states" and
consign us to it regardless.
Given the campaign of dis-information waged by the mainstream UK media about the whole topic, it is hardly surprising that Lord Monckton had to go to North America to find people prepared to listen to what he has to say on the topic. A video of his speech to the Minnesota Free Market Institute is on their web site, along with a link to the slides he used. The first blog report appeared at Fightin' Words, and was republished on Watts Up With That? Both blogs have had a tremendous debate in the comments sections. Walter Hudson at Fightin' Words expresses the opinion that if Monckton is right, "if American sovereignty is ceded (under the Copenhagen treaty), all other debate is irrelevant".
For much much more background look in the comments of the post at Watts Up With That? for one made on 16 Oct 09 by Mark. Search in the page (Ctrl-F) for Mark (07:59:40) : . In that comment he provides links to a large amount of background information.
See how, behind the scenes, a lot of the preparation work for a global government has already been achieved. See how they now feel confident enough to break cover. Compare it with the way that the state which will be called Europe has been put together under cover for many years, until recently they began to feel confident enough to break cover with the Constitution, and now the not at all Constitutional Lisbon Treaty.
Praise the Lord that He will have mercy!

100W Incandescent Lamps
Yokel doesn't know whether every store has them, but this evening in his local Morrisons he found a display of 100 watt incandescent lamps! Not only that but they are Pearl (also due to be phased out by the EU!) and with bayonet caps (ie standard UK style).
Yokel bought a few packs, just in case. You might want to visit Morrisons too!
UPDATE: Robert Dyas have 100W Pearl with both bayonet caps and Edison screw fittings, at least in Yokel's local store. The assistant said that they are allowed to sell out what they have in their warehouse, but not order more.

Will Nobody Think of the Children?
God must be really cross with us in the UK. He is allowing the State to destroy families, in secret.
Repent and Pray.
Anything planned before March 2010?
The immediate question that ran through Yokel's mind on reading this report in Metro was: "Why do they want the TA to be less skilled in six months time?". What have they got planned?

Nobel Committee Tells Us About Itself
The Nobel Committee that gave a bauble and a dollop of cash to Barak Hussein Obama has told us all we need to know about that committee.
Yokel offers you this alternative ...

EU Referendum
Now the Irish have been bullied into voting "Yes", they won't be called on to vote again. How long before one has to make known not only that one has voted, but also that one has voted for the Official candidate in the "secret" election? Just like the USSR? EUSSR.

We WILL know how you spend your money!
Yokel is right cheesed off. As Jesus said "But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth", so there is great value in giving anonymously.
But can we?
Yokel wanted to send some money to a couple of recipients in the USA. In the olden days, he would have turned up at the Post Office with the necessary sum in £20 notes, paid it over, and after deduction of the appropriate fees for providing the service, would have walked away with an International Money Order in US Dollars. Nowadays, the Post Office has dropped out of the International Money Order system. There was some cry about "modernising" if Yokel remembers correctly. Now, if using the replacement "Moneygram" procedures, one must show a valid passport if paying by cash, and the recipient must be named on the form.
To guard against money laundering, you see. No, Yokel doesn't see as it happens. What Yokel sees is the State wanting a record of where everything went, or who paid what to whom, so that they can be challenged as to why. And it is not just the UK Government that gets to dip into the records. As one knows after the Swift affair, given that the international money transfer servers are in the USA, the US Government gets to see every single transaction between any two countries. So Yokel is busy thinking at the moment. Busy thinking whether he can afford to tell the UK and US governments which bodies he supports. For there will soon come a time in this country when being a Christian will be a criminal offence.
How long before cash is illegal?
PS. According to Yokel's credit card company, the EU Payment Services Directive has made it illegal to pay your credit card bills by cash. If you want to use cash, you must first pay it into a bank account, and then transfer it to the credit card account. Does anyone know if the Directive actually specifies that?
